2017 Buddhist Guardians Wall Calendar

Buddhist devotional artsculptures and paintings used as visual aids for liturgies and meditative practiceswere created wherever the religion was adopted. The twelve works reproduced in this calendar represent Buddhist guardians in various regions from the sixteenth century to the nineteenth century. All are from the collection of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, one of the largest museums in the Western world devoted exclusively to Asian art.
