A Dope Boy Can't Love Me

Lauren Morris was the true definition of a good girl gone bad. All she ever wanted was a normal life. But life was about to show her that there was nothing normal about the life she was aiming towards. Lauren, also known as Lo, was raised by her father, Clayton Morris, one of Dallas, Texas’s biggest drug suppliers. Her mother chose drugs over her and her father when Lo was six, and she hadn’t seen her since. Lo’s father, who was recently murdered, always taught her that nothing good comes from the streets, and he didn’t like her hanging in them.
Lo wasn’t raised in the “hood,” but she visited often, thanks to her best friends Laiyah, Mia, and her cousin Tay. When she was with them, she saw a whole other side of life. She got caught up with a local drug dealer who does everything under the sun to break her down. After him, she vowed to never date another dope boy. She just wanted to focus on becoming a nurse and staying clear from drama and men. But can she keep that promise? Especially after she meets Chad, who lives everything but a white picket fence type of life. Lo quickly realizes that life doesn’t always go as planned.
