This book is a collaborative effort between Peter Duesberg and John Yiamouyiannis and is based in part upon a lecture given by Dr. Duesberg and attended by Dr. Yiamouyiannis at the Fall 1993 convention of the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology in Chicago. At that time, Yiamouyiannis, impressed with the importance of Duesberg's message, approached him and askid if he would be willing to put the substance of his lecture in book form where it would be available to the general public. The main goal of this book was not to be a stuffy formal treatise. Just the opposite. This book has sought to clearly keep in focus the main points and the big picture. In a few instances, technical explanations have been offered for the purpose of allowing the reader to understand, for example, how AZT kills cells and destroys the immune system.
