Analysis and Mitigation of the Active Shooter: A statistical and tactical approach

The active shooter is an individual who plans and executes a pre-meditated violent mass murder in furtherance of a perverse ideology. He or she is typically a person who possesses a psychopathic personality that is without remorse, empathy or care for whom they effect or victimize. The psychopathic personality is explained in great detail in this thesis as is the response that is recommended by psychological and law enforcement experts in dealing with the active shooter. Additionally, statistics will show the preferable manner to react in the event that an individual encounters an active shooter.
