This book is about the reality of 'Living the Dream' and sailing around the world. This life has certainly brought out a more simplistic side in us ... the ability to feel alive in adventure ... to dive into the world beneath, to hide up in a cove somewhere, to meet people from opposite cultures ... to be who we want to be ... to face new challenges such as the unpredictability of storms, to be at the mercy of the sea and weather, rip currents and tides whilst at anchor ... to feel the power of nature ...to feel reliant on God's mercy and not our own abilities ... this makes us happy!

This first volume of our world tour stories is the first 21 days of our journey: the South Atlantic crossing to Brazil from Cape Town. It was initially written as letters to my mum, who would further distribute our satellite mail to friends and relatives. My mum lost her husband and I, a father, a little while before our departure. Whereas I felt dad was with me on my crossing, these letters were my way to involve my mum who I had difficulty in leaving behind.
