As Cumbre Vieja, a massive Canary Island volcano experiences a major earthquake, many researchers suppose it's just a local disaster. But Britain's premier volcanologist knows different. Samuel May is a crackerjack scientist who has predicted for years that this earthquake would cause the La Palma volcano to collapse into the Atlantic Ocean. When that happens, the displacement of seawater causes a catastrophic tsunami that wipes out the coastlines of Morocco, Portugal and France. The resulting surge barreling up the English Channel is about to inundate the Thames River, rendering the Barrier Gates useless!
