Competency Development Guide

The Competency Development Guide is a resource guide for developing competencies that helps organizations implement competency-based human resource systems, and helps individuals improve their competencies and opportunities for career advancement. The workbook provides background on competencies and instruction on setting competency development goals, along with specific suggestions for developing each of 35 competencies. Included are nine worksheets (e.g. the Competency Selector) to help people identify specific competencies to target for development and several career planning exercises to help people think more broadly about what they want to do with their life and career. Tips, tools and advice for coaches and supervisors are also provided.
