Ernest Hemingway: Man of Courage

Ernest Hemingway: Man of Courage, first published in 1963, recounts the life and adventures of Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961), considered one of the most significant American authors of the Twentieth Century. His novels and short stories remain influential, and his economical, understated style has been a large influence on modern literary style. Hemingway is also known for his personal image as heroic, daring and “manly.” While in part true, Hemingway battled personal demons of depression, alcoholism and poor health, which led to his suicide in 1961. He was renowned for novels like The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Old Man and the Sea, which won the 1953 Pulitzer Prize. In 1954, Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in Literature. Included this edition are photographs and a new Preface.
