The book was created by inviting contributions from thousands of choir teachers worldwide. We searched everywhere to find choral directors willing to share their best warm-ups with us for this publication.

Eventually we came up with just 10 contributors, who each gave an enormous amount of materials, which we eventually cut down to just 50 pages of workable warm-ups which are really the “best of the best” of current practice in choral directing.


These warmups develop the choir through learning about vocal technique, breathing, intervals and scales.

Some of them also incorporate rhythm instruments, body percussion, and movements into the songs, which creates more energy for singing well.

This collection of warmups will be a valuable resource for anyone teaching choir, whether you are just starting out or if you have a lot of experience conducting choirs.
