Amy has lived her entire life hidden away in the mountains with her mentally ill mother and her mother’s dark secrets. She has no contact with the outside world, until the day she sees him for the first time through the crack in the tall wooden fence that holds her prisoner. Every day she returns to watch the boy through the fence, imagining what it would be like....to be kissed, to be touched, to be loved.



But her mother has warned her, “The world is evil, Amy. The boys will hurt you and the girls will laugh.”



What happens when tragedy strikes and Amy is forced to seek help from a boy in a world she’s never known?
