The great, dreaded conqueror, Attila the Hun has launched his promised invasion of Gaul (Roman France). All is lost, unless Zeno, a canny, courageous Shield Brother can somehow spirit an inexperienced envoy, the general’s own son, Gaudentius, through the treacherous northern wilds to track down a rich, but reluctant Burgundian king.
