It could still claim us all eventually. Even if it doesnâ€™t, there is still the ever-present fear that our immunity may not be passed down to our children. The next generation is not safe.

"But in the darkness, there is beacon of hope, a shining light to guide our way to tomorrow. Rumours have begun to surface about a cure, an anti-virus that could finally render Ebola X obsolete.

"This is the dawn of our reawakening. If the rumours turn out to be true, then there will nothing to hold us back. We can rebuild, we can find other survivors and bring them to our little city - unite everyone that we can beneath our banner of hope.

"Are the rumours true, though? I don't know yet, but I will find out."
