World Press Photo 1998

This is an annual collection of 200 press photographs chosen by the World Press Photo Foundation. Selected from the work of over 3000 photographers worldwide, they embrace every part of the world and every aspect of human existence, including dangerous trouble spots as well as portraits, the arts, science, fashion and the environment. A testament to the skill, and sometimes the courage, of photographers on the front line across the globe, these pictures capture the most powerful, moving, and sometimes disturbing events of the year.
